Joint Research Programme
During the past twenty years, a great number of research projects regarding Deep Stabilization of Soft Soils have been carried out in Sweden. The method has been continuously improved. However, the method of deep stabilization still has a large development potential. Consequently, comprehensive research programme has been designed and carried through in extensive co-operation projects.

A joint Swedish research programe was established in 1996 and will run to 2004 within the Swedish Deep Stabilization Research Centre. The centre co-ordinates all projects and activities for the benefit of both industry and society. Both basic and applied research is funded by the Programme.

Research activities
The research activities include issues related to planning, design, execution and control. Theoretical and practical studies and also tests are made in a co-operation by universities, research institutes, consultants and constructors. The research programme includes all questions related to

  • Properties of the stabilized soil
  • Function of lime-cement columns stabilizations and mass stabilizations
  • Installation and mixing techniqnes
  • Quality control
